MN Hobby has released its second aircraft model in 1/48 scale and again it is the Henschel Hs 129.
After the first Kit in the B-3 version with a large subhull cannon, the B-2 version came with the option of building the MK 101 or MK 103 cannon.
As in the first box, there are well-known hasegawa decals complete with a number of bonuses. Double-sided cab and wheel masks made of yellow kabuki tape, parts from 3D printing and, newly, blinds for chassis shafts are packed.
Among the resin 3D printed parts are the chassis legs, as the original kit hypes a few hard-to-remove bouncer tracks. Even the walls of printed exhausts are significantly thinner than plastic. In front of the cabin, we can glue a printed part of the sight to the model from a clear resin. Here, it is advisable to soak the slides in glossy varnish and allow them to dry, thereby losing traces of printing spacing. We can replace the cannons with printed ones, again they are noticeably more detailed than those from the kit. Chassis chassis blinds have been very popular recently and have been supplied to the kit by Omask - it is one of the additions that does not prolong the construction but shortens it.
The camouflage schemes are two - desert and winter. The first is from Libya in 1943 and is in sand colour with green spots and white accessories. The propeller cones are white with a blue slice. This machine is armed with the MK 101 cannon. The second machine is from Ukraine from March 1944 and has a built-up cannon MK 103. It has a classic green camouflage made up of refracted fields overlaid with white spots.
While it is true that the Hasegawa kit already remembers something, it is still a very nice negatively engraved model with a decent fit and the accessories attached make it an attractive piece.
At the last meeting of modellers in Prostejov, MN Hobby company published a plan for the next production and there are really interesting designs to come. Among others Ju-52 1/48 (repackaged Revell), Dolphins 1/72 i 1/48 (AMK), Bf109, Fw190 in interesting camouflage (Eduard) and even a small Kfir, again repackaged from amk production.
